19th June is celebrated as Fluid Power Professionals' Day worldwide commemorating the birthday of Blaise Pascal considered to be Father of Fluid Power. On this occasion, eminent personalities who have contributed to fluid power in India are felicitated at Gulmohar Hall, BIEC Ground, Bengaluru. Over 60 delegates including Industry stalwarts and multitude of FPSI members attended this programme.
Shri. G.L Sodha of Preac Fluid Power, Bengaluru and Shri. Prahalad V Dabholkar of Tucson Hydrocontrols Umbergaon were honoured with Pascal Award – 2019 for their outstanding and sustained contribution to the spread of Fluid Power Technology in India.
Dr. B.V. Ravishankar Principal BMS College of Engineering, Bengaluru was the Chief Guest for the event and delivered the keynote address.
In this occasion FPSI conducted a competition in which students submitted an exciting fluid power projects undertaken by FPSI Student Chapter’s college. FPSI received 6 short-term projects and shortlisted 4 including;
- Design and Fabrication of Autonomous Vacuum Cleaner with Blower Unit by Reva University, Bengaluru
- Design & Fabrication of Built-in Automatic Pneumatic Jack for LMV, JSSATE College, Bengaluru
- Automatic Waste Segregator, NMAMIT, Nitte
- Pneumatic Drilling Machine with Auto Feeder, PES University
The projects were screened by panel of jury members including Dr. Singaperumal (FPSI Board of Advisor), Ms. Meetali Mukherjee Chairperson Technical Committee, Mr. Yoganarasimha M.S (FPSI Board of Advisor) and Mr. Aroan D (Technical Committee – Student Interaction).
The best project was awarded to NMAMIT College, Nitte for the work on “Automatic Waste Segregator” with Trophy and Cash Prize.
