In pursuance of clause No.40 of FPSI Constitution, the 39thAnnual General Body Meeting of FLUID POWER SOCIETY OF INDIA (Regd.) for the year 2017 – 2018 was held as scheduled on 25th August 2018 in “White House Hall”, The Capitol Hotel, Raj Bhavan Road, Bengaluru – 560 001.
42 Members attended the Annual General Body Meeting complying with the quorum necessary for holding the meeting and the attendance registration sheets were maintained.
Mr. Victor Edward D’Souza, General Secretary welcomed all the members and invited FPSI office bearers including New President (Mr. Hemanth Kumar S), Vice President (Mr. Ravi Kumar s), Treasurer (Mr. Srinivasa P.R) and Past President (Dr. Prasanna Kumar on behalf of Mr. Seshnath B) on to the dais. Dr. Prasanna Kumar anointed the New Chairman and installed him. Further Mr President Hemanth Kumar chaired the session and conducted the proceedings of the Annual General Body Meeting.
Dr. Prasanna Kumar delivered the speech by the past President Mr Seshnath, which focussed on various strategies in earning revenue for the past years. Some of the revenue earning programs like the discontinuation of Hannover fair sponsored MDA programme has been withdrawn by sponsors. He talked about including revenue earning programmes for future years He thanked all the support given to him by the Council and other Society members.
Mr. Victor Edward D’Souza, General Secretary, read out the Secretary’s Report covering the activities and Programmes conducted by the Society during the term 2017 –2018.
Treasurer summarised that there was excess of expenditure over income in the Income of Expenses Accounts for the FY 2017 – 18, due to discontinuance of MDA exhibition.
The Treasurer brought to the notice of members that Mr. Ravindra BV will continue to be FPSI Auditor for the term 2018 -19.
New President addressed the gathering He spoke on Indian Economy and growth of fluid Power industry. He proposed that FPSI should be a Nodal agency for all the Fluid Power market report including the data of component manufacturer, users and its applications.
New Initiatives for the term 2018 – 2020 includes
- Certification program – to train the professional and FPSI is in discussion with IFPS, USA in bringing Certification programme to India.
- Training program – FPSI has identified few institutes and with facilities available at CII and the support of IMTMA, FPSI will shortly release modules, framework, structure and offer the course.
- FPES – To revive the Fluid Power Exhibition and Seminar
